“Intimidation is easy.  Connecting, on the other hand , requires wisdom, focus, and humility.” – Dan Rockwell

I ran across a post the other day by Mike Myatt while looking for some leadership thoughts regarding core leadership.  The title of the post is:  Why You’re Not A Leader, https://www.forbes.com/sites/mikemyatt/2013/01/23/why-youre-not-a-leader/#644397cc6fb8 Make sure you look at point numbers 2, 3, 6, 9 and 10.
The post caught my eye because I did not think I read the title correctly.  Often times we have to see the reverse in order to understand.  After a re-reading… I said to myself, “That’s nothing more than a “wannabe” leader.”

Unless we live in denial, the more we have to or are made to look deep within ourselves, the better the results should be when it comes to the belief of what we think we are as opposed to what we really are.

Real leadership should take us to a different mindset.  When we combine true, real, uncommon leadership that does not carry false intentions with a heart for leadership, we begin to model the true essence of what leadership should be.

Let’s not be a “wannabe” leader.  There are way too many out there.  They are actually pretty easy to spot.  Usually, it’s all about them.  “Wannabe” leaders have no deisre to have an “others-centered” leadership mindset.
