Let There Be Light…
The Light of the World

Time, clothed in darkness many years…
God’s word thought silent too long.

Prophets foretold the coming…
Yet, time produced nothing.

Mankind… waiting, wanting…
Of the Word to become flesh.

A Promised Savior to be…
Who would step out of His glory.

…Christ…

A starry night made bright…
Led shepherds and Magi to The Light.

The Light that shines in darkness…
The Glory of The Light to shine all around us.

The Light that will show everyone The Way…
To shine for all time and make all things right.

His life, to be The Light to man…
The Light unto salvation.

The True Light that brings Eternal hope…
Showing mercy and love.

God said, “Let there be Light…”
The Light of the world, is given for us.

…Let The Light shine this Christmas season…

The Cross I See…

The Cross I See…

The cross I see is heavy, rugged, ugly…
It holds death, to the last breath.

The weight of the cross – unbearable…
The weight of humanity’s sin – unimaginable!

Bystanders – watching, spitting, mocking, shouting,…
“Prove thyself,” they say – “Save yourself if the King be.”

The silence of Jesus speaks louder.

Jesus, breathing His last breath…
Head bowed, tired with pain and grief…
Sour wine drink offered for His thirst…
Shadows of darkness overhang.

…Then…

The cry of “It is finished!”
Sacrifices needed no more.

His body – beaten, disfigured…
Now glistens, Holy as once before.

Torn rags now robed white…
Crown of thorns now made gold.

The temple curtain – torn in two…
Access gained forevermore.

Three dark days…
Buried in another’s tomb.

Sunday morning – Silence is broken…
The earth shook, and the stone rolled away!

Christ is risen from the dead!
Now He lives and reigns – Behold!

Death… You have no sting…
Christ, Lord and Savior – Is our Eternal King!

The Cross I see…
Forgiveness, salvation, hope, life.

Born As A Babe… On This Day

Born As A Babe… On This Day

No parade, no pomp and circumstance,
Just a quiet evening…

Then the sky brightened with an angel saying,
“For unto you is born this day…”

The message – Emmanuel!

Wood, hay, swaddling cloths,
Not very regal for the King.

Mary and Joseph, shepherds, animals,
An unlikely cast to usher in the King.

Mary and Joseph’s hearts – chosen, humbled,
To burden the responsibility to raise the King.

Shepherds bowed on bended knees,
To the King that we all need.

The Babe’s first cry,
Our Savior’s divinity met His humanity.

Time; eternally separated and changed.
Life, hope, love, grace, mercy; all in one scene.

Provided by a Savior, Christ the Lord;
Born as a Babe…. On this day.

Merry Christmas

Thanksgiving Grace

Grace… Bestowed by God –
Accepted and appreciated in humility.

The gift of life, a remarkable thing –
Every breath, a beat of the heart.

The Heavens declare His grace –
The noonday sun, the nighttime stars.

Grace displayed beautifully through the Scriptures –
Following Jesus; what a change!

The words of Jesus ring out to all who would hear Him say –
“Come unto me… and you will find rest.”

Grace, seen in the purpose of God –
“How sweet the sound…”

The grace you seek is in Him –
Knowing “I was once lost, but now am found.”

We cannot boast or make any claims –
Mercy and grace are what we need.

Grace is wonderful –
For sinners are saved, condemned no more.

Once a sinner, now redeemed –
A sobering and humbling scene.

Thanksgiving, a time our hearts should be stirred –
Truly giving thanks, for the grace undeserved.

Abundantly given by God –
Every day, thankful for Thanksgiving Grace.
